The NCIE is the home of the May-August 2014 project.

The yarnbomb of 7 bike racks and three trees in the forecourt of The National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) is built on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. The NCIE sits in the heart of the community of Redfern, Sydney, Australia. It offers many programs, educational opportunities, promotes leadership and provides a gym and sporting facilities.
The Yarnbombers United project seeks to celebrate the resilience of the Indigenous Redfern community, the Land on which all Australians live, the Ocean which surrounds us and the diversity of the Australian People.
Two dozen local children will be involved in crochet and pom pom making workshops at the centre with Queen Babs (aka Jane).
The project will be installed during August with August 9th being the International Day of the World's Indigenous People.
Donations of 8ply acrylic yarn or pom-poms in pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown or black are welcome!
All contributions will be acknowleged here on our website so don't forget to include your name.
