This project started out with Queen Babs adding yarnbombs to George Street, Redfern which as been upgraded in the Sydney Cycleways program. Yarnbombers United members are getting involved too! Any contributions of yarnbombs to this project would be wonderful. Please contact us and we will get you up to speed on the Cycyleway! (pun intended)
2015 new yarnbombs
I received a second hand knittng machine through the generosity of family and bargain hunting. It is over 30 years old, but going strong. Now I shall learn to use it and experiment. Decorations will be made by hand and hand sewn as usual. I will be using a mix of all my skills and making the streets beautiful!! -Queen Babs
NAIDOC week celebration yarnbomb, July 2015
It was time to remove the faded yarnbomb outside the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence and NAIDOC week was a perfect time to gift a new one.
Fibromyalgia Awareness Yarnbomb May 2015
May is Fibromyalgia Awareness month and so this new yarnbomb raises awareness and celebrates all Fibro fighters! My mother Valerie helped out on this freezing cold, windy 8C morning. Martin aka @jam_project took the photos. Thanks to both of them.
Valerie's Yarnbomb May 2015
When my parents came to visit, my mother Valerie learnt to make a yarnbomb on the knitting machine. It was great fun to do together. We added it to the George Street cycleway in Redfern.

POM-POM BUTTON YARNBOMB 2014
I love making pom-poms, but often they are 'adopted' from yarnbombs very quickly! This one has lasted pretty well. It is made in honour of Work-Shop in George Street, Redfern. Check out their amazing variety of community classes and events. https://www.facebook.com/WorkShopAustralia
Disco yarnbomb 2014
Lots of neon brights and little mirrors to get the party started...
(It had to be removed in February 2015 because it was no longer disco-tastic! I am going to get the mirrors off and reuse them I hope!)
