Queen Babs Friendship flower - free pattern
"What's in a name? that we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet"
Shakespeare from Romeo and Juliet
Shakespeare from Romeo and Juliet
To celebrate new friends and all the Queen Babs Instagram and Facebook followers, I created a new flower pattern, invited people to name the flower...and here it is. Thanks to everyone who contributed with so many great ideas. I have combined 2 ideas, but some of the other names have inspired new ideas, so thanks everyone!
Thanks Debra, Pauline and Shawn for the name ideas and here it is the Queen Babs Friendship Flower symbolising the new friendships we are all making! Thanks also to Bec ( IG @bechancer ) for pattern testing at short notice. You rock my friend!!
As Pauline said :
"...through your flowers I/we have made so many friends and will make so many more and there is nothing more precious than a gift from a friend."
I hope you enjoy making it.

Pattern
I used 8ply and a 4mm hook. Finished flower was approximately 14cm across.
You will not need very much yarn for each colour. Cotton blend/ cotton would work beautifully. If the yarn is very soft and floppy the pattern will not work as well.
Exact gauge is not important, but do not work too tightly!
